Just the girls next door...

In eager anticipation of the biggest, baddest, bestest barbecue birthday trifecta this side of the Mississippi last Saturday, I and many mutual friends fired up the barbecue, yanked out the Dance Dance Revolution (for fascinating fun, try this), hoisted the badminton net, lit the candles on the snake cakes (yes, I said snake cake!), cranked up the music, and yes... unleashed the slip n' slide.

While every single guest in attendance (numbering somewhere over 70, I'd say) expressed gusto and zest for said sliding fun, when it came time to actually slip and/or slide, the vast majority were loath to do so. Disappointed, yet undaunted, we True Cool Ones finally took on the challenge. The time was approximately 8:30 pm, the weather nearing the 70s, the sun well behind the horizon. Not the most ideal sliding conditions, but we took one for the team.

What does a fully clothed slipnslider look like midaction, you ask? Conveniently, we present to you Exhibits A, B, C, and D. You'll notice that I didn't get very far down the slide... one slider likened it unto dropping a bowling ball directly onto the lane instead of a smooth, continuous rolling motion. I nearly knocked myself out, quite literally.

Soaked, wet and cold, Exhibit D was forced to run home and change into dry clothes...upon entering her house, her roommate, observing her dripping state and award winning wet t-shirt, arched an eyebrow and remarked "well if you're not gonna go big, go porn."

Best birthday bash ever.

All good, clean fun! The controversial quote -- there's several version's. Darn PB Mansion for slutting the slip n'slide image. I'm proud I was a part of it all. Truly, it should be summer long tradition!

OK, I must tell you, the best part of the group shot is the oggler in the background.

I shouldn't read your blog while I'm in the library--too prone to laughing hysterically and causing a commotion.
