What you wish for

I just have to take a moment to give a shout out to my favorite band Guster, my favorite new member of Guster, Joe, and my favorite song by Joe, collaborated with some chick in some band called Watercolor. Listen to it, it's really good. Trust me.

They are soon coming to an arena near you!! Do not miss an opportunity to hear them play. Man, I don't even get paid for all the shameless Guster-hawking I'm doing...

August 1, Wolf Trap, Virginia. BE THERE.

Sorry but your Guster band is a little too Peter, Paul, and Mary for me. I really wish I had some goldfish crackers about now.

In Guster's defense, their music sounds nothing like Peter Paul & Mary; it's not their fault I happened to pick a song that's not directly related to them. Try this out and check out some of their new music.

I love your screen name. "Hi, I'm Handsome Rob. I'm going to need your truck and your shirt..."

A little superficial, Handsome Rob. They're really nothing like Peter, Paul and Mary. I feel obliged to defend Guster and Joe, newest member of Guster. Joe may look funny, but he's amazing on banjo, mandolin or guitar. It was Joe that performed the P,P$M-ish song, not Guster.

Did you hear Guster in 2003, AK...right. Mission. Continuing the conversation anyway, summer of 2003 was when Guster first toured with Joe--he was with them at a little gig at Virgin Records Megastore in SLC and also at the show we went to in Boise. Good times. He did the banjo on 'Jesus on the Radio' and whatever else they needed in any other song. Except for, of course, the drums. He left the drums completely to the capable hands of Brian the Thunder God.

"in my defense, I'd do it again...don't need to know who you are..."

The Thundergod himself commented that his favorite studio recording experience was the day that Joe walked in, picked up a mandolin, and remarked "hmm, I've never played one of these before..." and then proceeded to teach himself in the space of ten minutes before recording their song. I Heart Joe.

...hey, so remember how that was going to be the theme song we sang to our roommates, The Monstrosity, after they stuck their two weeks' worth of dirty dishes under the sink rather than washing them, knocking loose a water pipe, hence flooding my bedroom and ruining my stereo and computer, then denying all responsibility for the fact? I thank you, and Guster, for getting me through that trying period of my life...

The Monstrosity.

(I couldn't deny the urge to type that, even if my interaction with The Monstrosity was minimal.)

(Absolute props for crafting the nickname.)
