Last minute desperate plea!!

I know I first posted this idea like what, six, seven months ago...? Since then, people have asked me what I've decided on, but the answer has always been, "well, my New York insurance hasn't expired yet, so I'm holding off..." Said insurance expires July 12 and it's time to finally accept that after three years, I'm a technical Virginian resident whose automobile should be registered thusly.

Of course, now that the crunch time has arrived, I'm a quivering blob of indecision. Personalized license plates are much like getting tattoos (not that I have personal experience, mind you)... they seem pretty rockin' at the time, but the sense of true permanency doesn't sink in until it's far too late.

Luckily, the VA DMV website allows you to preview potential auto-faux-pas(es?) so you can really get a sense for what you're committing to. Among the approximately six hundred choices of plates, I submit for your vote the following:

OPTION A

OPTION B

OPTION C

OPTION D

OPTION E

OPTION F
You're a total blithering idiot, and just go with the mature choice of letting the DMV choose your random combination of letters and numbers for you.

Please cast your votes!! The polling booths close... well, whenever the DMV states I have to get my new plates on my car. I approach tomorrow morning's trek with impending doom...

yay! i'm the first! i like option A. are those fish around the frame?

nevermind about the fish. upon closer inspection (as close as i can get to my screen) it appears that they are leaves. i still like them.

I vote for Option A. Word.

I like Option E but with an S instead of a Z. Also, I never understood why people would get a red coat on their license plate.

Those are musical notes surrounding the red coat, yo. I was going for the 'musical' theme but it does sort of smack of wearing piano ties...

PS you can click on the pictures for (semi) larger versions...

I'm all about option A.

Down the British!

I like option A, or option E with the S instead of the Z.

I vote for option B. You'll be stylin' in any of them though!

I vote F.
Just kidding.
I think that I would have to agree. If you are going to go with graphics on the plate, I would either go with A or E.

Asnkng - any plate- but i prefer the leaves

It must be option A

For all "intensive" purposes, I like option E -- but A is dope, too -- with ASNKNG on either.

Definitely option A. But whichever style of plate you decide, I like ASNKENG better than AZNKENG.

I do like "E". "A" would work also, but agree with the utilization of s and not z in Asnkng. Those who won't get it right off the bat aren't worth telling anyway.

I'm seconding all the A&E votes, though I am leaning towards "E" because of its historic significance. If you HAVE to grow up and get off the parent's insurance plan, this is the way to do it. Let me be the first to welcome you as our newest Virginian resident. Virginia needs more people like you, that is for sure.

Thanks everyone. Truly. I waited in line on Saturday morning for two hours and 45 minutes before I my number was finally called (D431, please come to window 13) and in the kerfuffle of all registration, had to make a split-second decision on the plate... so I went with the Jamestown colonial ship with ASNKNG. To be quite girly, it matches my car better than the cute, whimsical flurry of leaves (or fishies) of Option A. Plus it maintains a smidgen of anonymity that my last name is NOT plastered all over my car... but it probably won't help anyone spell it correctly.

Three hours later I got my very first speeding ticket of all time. Eleven years of a squeaky clean driving record, to be slapped with two traffic infarctions in six months. This is not my year...

Maybe instead of ASNKNG you should have put SPDDMN or ASNTRBO.

Boo. Sad that the polls are now closed. I would have voted for Option A. But I think that Option E was a sound choice. Do you think that people will start assuming that it's a guy's car? King? Eh, whatever. I like it. It adds to your mystique.

Alternate interpretations of your license plate - A SiNKiNG (add picture of ship - hee a sinking ship?). Ooo! Nice one! I bet you didn't even think of that one! Wow. Jen, you totally picked a winner! This is so fun!

Happy sailing!
