After 36 hours of intense stress and twelve contacts later, I finally have my dataset of 1236 observations of the National Church and Congregation Study of 1998. As my 20 page paper is due next Wednesday by 5 pm, I thought it prudent, yea, even necessary to pause and reflect on the more important aspects of life: Christmas music!
It is now officially acceptable to embrace the carols and jingling and cheesy songs that technically started after Halloween but really are appropriate only after Thanksgiving. Christmas of 2004 was the first time I was able to relax and enjoy the holidays for what they really are, as opposed to simply a break from school.
I love the true spirit that the appropriate music can bring to the holiday season. There is something special about beautiful songs that are tucked away for the one special time of year, and while the classics will never die, I get a kick out of the remakes done by my favorite artists.

I notice that you omitted 'Santa Baby'. An oversight, I'm sure.
I've never heard of Killarney! You'll have to play it for me sometime!
And I actually have three versions of Santa Baby on my computer. Probably my favorite version by Eartha Kitt... does the name sound familiar?

"o holy night" is my all time favorite Christmas song and i usually don't care who sings it. i grew up listening to Manneheim Steamroller and a friend of mine has recently turned me onto Trans-Siberian Orchestra which i love. i generally don't go for the commercial-ly Christmas tunes although they do have their proper place and time.
There's one that U2 sings...I think it's called "Please come home for Christmas." I love that song, but only their version. I think Mariah Carey sings it, too. No, gracias. Give me U2.
